The naturally springy core of the Mohair Mat is made from horse tail hair, the longest and most durable fibre in the world. This is then sandwiched together with our organic coir (from the only organic coir plantation in the world) for extra support and breathability. Our soft Mohair fleece from Angora goats is wrapped around the outside of the horse tail hair and the coir to create a soft and sumptuous top layer. Mohair is an excellant insulator and ventilator. All the natural fibres in this mattress are highly breathable and are naturally fire retardant. Natural Mat is the only mattress manufacturer in the UK to pass the British Safety Standards (BS EN597, BS7177) without using any chemical fire retardants which may harm the baby.
